i checked the news of the clan you reffer, the most recent one is from 2004. With so few players left in q3, it will be hard to gather players around a clan that only focus on one map, especially when this one is mostly used for duel and isnt really making unanimity about its fun (tough its one of my favourite map, these days i spend most of my q3 time in dm17 duel euro servers).
This said, any idea to keep this community entertaining and alive is always welcome. The only way to be sure an idea works is to try it . So even with a 1 out of 10 sucess ratio, it's still worthy to bring it on the table like you did. Dont get saddened with the failure thing, the only ones who never fail are those who never try.
